About Lee
Lee’s young legal career has been defined by consumer advocacy. He works on Teske Law’s consumer protection cases, including complex and class action litigation on behalf of individuals.
Lee has worked on claims enforcing federal and state laws protecting individuals in lending, housing, and other consumer transactions. He has represented clients under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and Minnesota’s Landlord-Tenant and Deceptive Trade Practice laws, regarding issues such as credit reporting, debt collection, auto loans and warranties, contracts for deed, credit insurance, junk fees, homeowner’s associations, and security deposits.
While in law school, he volunteered over 400 hours in Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid’s consumer unit. Lee also represented consumers through the University of Minnesota Law School’s Bankruptcy Clinic, where he earned a Chapter 7 discharge for a client and helped another relieve their student debt.
Lee is an active member of the National Association of Consumer Advocates and attends the National Consumer Law Center’s annual Consumer Rights Litigation Conference & Class Action Symposium.
Lee is particularly interested in predatory lending, tax forfeiture, and class cases. He is proficient in Spanish.
Awards and Recognition
Lee was nominated for the 2024 Bernard P. Becker Legal Services Student Volunteer Award, which recognizes law students who demonstrate a commitment to providing legal services to low-income persons.
He was awarded the Fredrikson & Byron Fellowship in Summers 2022 and 2023, which provides a stipend to select law students who choose to volunteer during summer break.
Lee was named Best Oralist in his Civil Rights/Civil Liberties Moot Court section, and was a finalist in the 2023 Maynard Pirsig Moot Court Honors Tournament.
Education
Lee graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2024, cum laude. He earned the Book Award, given to the student who earns the highest grade, in his Contracts and Secured Transaction classes. Through his dedication to volunteer work and the University’s emphasis on practical training, Lee graduated with an uncommon amount of experience.
Lee graduated from Amherst College in 2018, earning his Bachelor of Arts and majoring in Black Studies. He was also a goalkeeper on the Varsity Men’s Soccer Team and a member of the 2015 NCAA National Championship team.
